GOSHEN, Ind. — Wright Industries plans to invest $18 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Goshen, creating more than 250 jobs by the end of 2028, Indiana Gov. Mike Braun announced.
The company, which manufactures premium ambulances and specialty vehicles, will purchase the former Wabash National Services manufacturing facility at 2672 E. Kercher Road. The 72-acre property includes 12 buildings totaling 380,000 square feet.
Wright Industries has outgrown its initial 72,000-square-foot facility since its establishment in 2025. Renovations are underway at the new location, and the company plans to begin moving operations next week.
The expansion will allow the company to increase production and grow its workforce. New positions are expected to pay average salaries of up to 125% of the Elkhart County average, according to the announcement.
“Indiana’s advanced manufacturing sector continues to grow, propelling the industry and its high-wage jobs forward,” Braun said.
David Wright, CEO of Wright Industries, said Goshen’s business climate, available workforce and manufacturing expertise influenced the company’s decision to expand in the community.
The company is a division of Wright Capital Management and focuses on designing, building and remounting ambulances.
Wright Industries introduced its Rescue Star Type II ambulance, built on the 2026 Ford Transit chassis, in 2025. It also recently unveiled the Rescue Star RS 170 Type III ambulance at EMS World in Orlando.
The company’s expansion adds to manufacturing investment in the South Bend-Elkhart region, an area with an established recreational vehicle manufacturing industry.
Indiana Secretary of Commerce Chuck Goodrich said the investment reflects continued business growth and entrepreneurship in the state.
The company expects to create more than 250 new jobs by the end of 2028 as it expands its production capacity at the Goshen campus.
